Growing through Temptation is the title of Day 26. Have I been tempted??? Saying yes would be an understatement. What I loved about today’s reading was the fact that it pointed out the good in being tempted. Not only does it give us a chance/choice to do well, but we also know that when we are tempted, Satan fears our relationship with God. That means we must be doing something right!
Temptation is a sign that Satan hates you, not a sign of weakness or worldliness.
The next step, however, is to make sure we keep our mind focused on God to develop the love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control that the Bible speaks to in terms of bearing fruit. We bear this fruit by growing through those times when we are tempted to do the exact opposite.
Ask Yourself: What Christlike character quality can I develop by defeating the most common temptation I face?
